Kahwa Café’s story began on Avenue du Mont-Royal in 2010 as a neighbourhood café with an artistic soul, serving couscous, brunch and warm, homemade fare. It was during the pandemic that the concept took a new turn, with the development of exceptional sandwiches made from quality ingredients, bold flavours and their signature homemade bread. Over the years, Kahwa Café has built a loyal following and established itself as a true Montreal favourite.
We had the pleasure of working with the experienced and highly driven team behind Kahwa Café to secure their location at 1887 Avenue du Mont-Royal Est. Their years of experience, clear understanding of their concept and thoughtful approach to expansion made the negotiation process both efficient and enjoyable. They knew exactly what they needed from the space and had a strong vision for what it could become.
The location had previously been occupied by Prêt à Manger and, although it had become slightly outdated, the Kahwa team immediately recognized its potential. Through a carefully executed transformation, they gave the space a new identity and turned it into a vibrant neighbourhood destination. Today, it is a welcoming place where local residents, professionals and visitors can enjoy excellent sandwiches, fresh ingredients and the distinctive homemade bread for which Kahwa Café has become known.
